'Stay On Your Own Path': Backstreet Boys Offer One Direction Some Advice As They Promote Their New Documentary

They have been in business for 22 years, and are the best-selling boy band of all time, moving more than 130 million albums worldwide.

And the Backstreet Boys had some words for group's hottest guys, one direction, when they appeared inthe Today Show on Tuesday.

'They do not need much advice; who are obviously doing quite well, 'AJ McLean said as they joined the band members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson. "Just want to say just stay in your own way."

He added: "We just stuck to doing what we like to do: Good pop music, fun and love what we do"

An address consists of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson.

The Backstreet Boys made an appearance on The Today Show to talk about his new documentary, Backstreet Boys: Show 'em what you're made.

The project hits theaters in the US on January 30 and in the UK on February 26.

Brian commented on the vote count "raw" and "transparent" group development through the years.

'I think it was very important for us all to be as real, as open as we can be. Backstreet Boys are never really about the cover-up.

"We share with the world what happens. We all levels of actions and downs, trials and tribulations, and I think that makes us stronger as a group."

Nick interjected, 'really reveal a side of ourselves that no one has ever really seen before. I do not say that we have been saved.

"We're in a boy band - man orchestra, as it were - and there are plenty of things that are hidden for years."

The Backstreet Boys released their eighth album, in a world like this, in 2013, follow-2009 This Is Us.

They first formed as a group in 1993 and rose to stardom with their third studio album, Millennium, in 1999 and his fourth, Black and Blue, in 2000.
