Earlier this month, the 1D boys admitted they were a "little angry" when Zayn Malik said he was quitting the group.

Liam said he and his bandmates were initially rocked when Zayn told them I wanted to get away from the boyband world conquest, but anger quickly dissipated.

In his first interview as a quartet with James Corden on The Late Late Show on Thursday night, the 21-year-old singer said. "At first we were a little angry we were surprised, but I think we all knew the general atmosphere that Zayn was feeling.

Later in the evening, 1D were collecting another award and Liam Payne's speech was cut.

Fans rushed to ruin the show on Twitter, with an announcement: "CortanReal_Liam_Payne off for his rude speech #BBMAs  ..."

Another wrote on the site: "zayn thanks PobreReal_Liam_Payne was probably going so well, but was interrupted."
