About 50 fans were injured during One Direction concert in Peru on Sunday (April 27).
The band was in South America to play the second date of their world tour and was playing in the 40,000 capacity Estadio Nacional de Lima. Police say a race to approach the band took 47 fans treated for asphyxiation.
Sky News quoted Chief of Police, General Salvador Iglesias saying that "when the doors opened concert had rushed young people rushed to the front."
Meanwhile, Mario Cassareto, head of Peru’s fire service said the young fans had to be removed from the stage and balcony area to get medical help.
